Foster Farms has been guided by the Foster family's strong personal values of excellence, honesty, quality and service. Committed to these core values, Foster Farms has played an active role in the local communities in which it does business. Corporate giving continues to be an integral part of the Foster Farms philosophy in the new millennium.

Community Programs

  • Foster Farms works with the American Red Cross and Salvation Army to help communities hit by natural disasters.
  • Foster Farms partners with the Modesto Police Department to help provide substance abuse training in Modesto City and County schools.
  • Foster Farms provides scholarship monies to area universities and community colleges for deserving students to continue their education.
  • Foster Farms supports countless community organizations with donations of poultry products for their fundraising efforts.

Business & Education Partnerships

  • Merced County High School's Job Shadow Day (1999 & 2000).
  • Annual scholarships to Merced Community College and Modesto Jr. College.
  • Endowed scholarships to area universities including: UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine, Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, California State University at Fresno, California State University at Stanislas and Porterville Community College.

Non-Profit Support

  • Foster Farms participates in Capital Building projects with agencies including the Salvation Army in Turlock and in Modesto, the Ronald McDonald House in Fresno, Livingston Sr. Elementary School and Livingston Child Development Center in Livingston.
  • Foster Farms matches employee giving dollar for dollar, in order to ensure the success of our United Way campaign.
  • Foster Farms provides product donations to the Modesto, Turlock, Atwater, Merced and Fresno Salvation Armies for their holiday food programs.
  • Foster Farms' Longline delivery system donates product to Second Harvests across the country.
  • Foster Farms employees continue in the spirit of giving fostered by Max and Verda Foster by establishing and running "Christmas Kids," a group that provides gifts and food baskets for Livingston area families during the holidays. This group has now expanded to provide assistance to Senior's groups, as well as children, year round.
  • Foster Farms employees serve on numerous local Boards including the Merced United Way, California Education Partnering Coalition, Boys & Girls Club of Merced County, CSU, Stanislus Alumni Association and the Sierra Vista Children's Center.
