Foster Farms Crock Pot Recipes
 

It's back! The crock pot is once again enjoying a trendy reputation, as today's busy chef discovers the pleasure of coming home to savory aromas - and a meal that's done!



Mission Chicken
1 Foster Farms Whole Chicken, cut up
1/4 cup butter
1/4 tsp. ground cinnamon
1/4 tsp. ground cloves
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. seasoned salt
1 can (6 oz.) frozen orange juice concentrate, thawed
1/2 cup water
2 to 3 drops hot pepper sauce
1 cup seedless grapes, halved
1/2 cup slivered, toasted almonds
1. In large skillet or crock pot with browning unit, brown chicken in butter.

2. Combine cinnamon, cloves, salt, seasoned salt, orange juice concentrate, water and hot pepper sauce. Place chicken in crock pot and pour mixture over. Cover and cook on medium for 4 to 5 hours or until chicken is tender.

3. Stir in grapes. Place chicken in serving dish; sprinkle with almonds. If preferred, pass sauce in separate bowl or thicken with flour dissolved in small amount of water.

Serves 8.

Chicken Kona
1 Foster Farms Whole Chicken, quartered salt and pepper
1/2 cup chopped green onion
1/2 cup soy sauce
1/4 cup dry white wine
1/2 cup water
1/2 cup honey
1. Sprinkle chicken with salt and pepper. Place in crock pot.

2. Combine onions, soy sauce, wine and water. Pour over chicken. Cover and cook on medium for 4 to 5 hours or until chicken is tender.

3. Remove chicken from pot. Arrange on broiler pan. Brush honey on chicken. Broil until golden brown, brushing with honey several times.

Serves 6 to 8.

Chicken Marengo
1 Foster Farms Whole Chicken, cut up
2 pkgs. (1-1/2 oz.) spaghetti sauce mix
1 cup dry white wine
2 fresh tomatoes, quartered
1/4 lb. fresh mushrooms
1. Place chicken parts in bottom of slow-cooking pot.

2. Combine dry spaghetti sauce packets with wine; pour over chicken. Cover and cook on low 6 to 7 hours.

3. Turn control to high. Add tomatoes and mushrooms. Cover and cook on high for 30 to 40 minutes or until tomatoes are done.

Serves 4 to 5.
