Chicken Livers in Port Wine
Using Foster Farms fresh chicken livers, this dish serves up the flavor in a decadent Port Wine Sauce. Serve over toast or try whole grain pasta or rice.. Prep Time: approx. 15 Minutes. Cook Time: approx. 8 Minutes. Ready in: approx. 23 minutes .

Chicken Livers:

1 package Foster Farms Chicken Livers
|
1/3 cup butter or margarine
|
4 green onions, finely chopped
|
Port Wine Sauce:
|
1/4 teaspoon dried sage
|
1/2 teaspoon salt
|
2 tablespoons lemon juice
|
2/3 cup Port wine
|
1/4 teaspoon freshly ground pepper
|
Serve Over:
|
slices of toast
|

Directions
1. Melt butter in skillet over medium heat. Saute onions in butter for 8 to 10 minutes.
2. Add livers, saute 4 minutes. Stir in sage, salt, lemon juice, Port wine and pepper.
3. Simmer about 8 minutes, stirring occasionally. Correct seasonings and serve on toast.
