Chef Ray Tang

In 2003, Ray participated in the BBQ World championships in Montego Bay, Jamaica. Competing among an international contingent of over 30 BBQ masters and aficionados, he and his partner, Ray Lampe, aka Dr. BBQ of Florida, placed 3rd in the world in the rib category and fourth with their sauce in the “Who’s sauce is the Boss” contest.

Ray is an avid fan as well as a professional in the craft of open flame grilling and BBQing. In this FF summer grilling series, he generously shares some of his own trade secrets and tips for a successful grilling season. Get ready…Ignite!

Ray and his former restaurant, Mariposa, was featured in the August 2001 issue of Wine & Spirits magazine for highlighting the art of the grill.
