CONTEST HIGHLIGHTS

Congratulations to Rebecca Spence of Vancouver, Washington, winner of the Second Annual Foster Farms Fresh Chicken Cooking Contest! The final event was held at The Culinary Institute of America at Greystone, in California’s Napa Valley on September 30, 2011. Rebecca’s Crispy Orange Chicken with Fennel, Avocado and Orange Salad recipe beat out nearly 2,000 recipes to win the $10,000 grand prize and a one-year supply of Foster Farms fresh chicken. Rebecca’s recipe was selected as the winning dish by an esteemed panel of food media judges including Liam Mayclem, host and producer of CBS 5 TV’s Eye on The Bay; Carolyn Jung, Food Gal blogger and former San Jose Mercury News food editor; Natalie Haughton, “Slow & Easy” cookbook author and food journalist; and Narsai David, food and wine editor at San Francisco’s KCBS Radio.

Congratulations to the winner of the first-ever Foster Farms Fresh Chicken Cooking Contest, Alexandria Boswell from La Jolla, California! Alexandria and her Spinach Stuffed Chicken Breasts recipe beat out close to 2,000 entries to win the $10,000 grand prize and a one-year supply of Foster Farms fresh chicken. Alexandria prepared this winning dish at the final competition held September 17, 2010 at the Culinary Institute of America at Greystone in California's Napa Valley. Her dish was selected as the top chicken recipe by a panel of distinguished food media judges including Lena Birnbaum from Bon Appétit, Elaine Johnson of Sunset magazine, Michele Kayal contributor to Associated Press, and Carolyn Jung of Food Gal, a James Beard Award-winning food journalist and former San Jose Mercury News food editor.
