Senior Programmer Analyst

Location: Livingston, CA | Shift: Days | Status: Hourly | Job ID: # 5815

Essential Job Functions

    1. Complete complex design, programming and troubleshooting assignments: (Develop technical programs or system specifications that will be converted into application software that is well documented, maintainable and satisfies defined business needs)
    2. Provide technical assistance and guidance to other programmer analysts Perform system administration, monitoring, or system tuning.
    3. Identify, define, document, and lead resolution of system and business process problems.
    4. Provide project management tasks related to programming assignments and complete systems documentation.
    5. Create system maintenance Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) and perform associated maintenance activities.
    6. Create, modify implement, and/or execute unit and system test plans, which adequately exercise the performance of the system and its various sub components.

Requirements

    1. Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, software engineering, or engineering required. Master’s degree preferred.
    2. Minimum of eight-ten years of progressive responsibility in software design, development, and programming including experience using C, C++, C++.Net, Pro*C, Visual Basic (VB), VB.NET, Java, PL/SQL, Socket Programming, Shell Scripts and Perl.
    3. Two-three years of Project Management experience strongly desired
    4. Excellent understanding of coding methods and best practices and extensive relational database and operating systems experience with SQL Server.
    5. Prior experience interviewing end users for insight on functionality, problems, or usability issues and needs and experience with all software development lifecycle phases and activities.
    6. Experience learning complex business requirements and ability to communicate clearly, concisely, and effectively with non-technical staff and members of other IT and business teams.
    7. Hands on experience developing and completing test cases and test scenarios.
    8. Familiarity using the following applications: MS Office suite, MS Project, and NetMeeting and familiarity with HTML, XML, and other B2B communication techniques and standards desired.
    9. Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills and be highly self motivated and directed and have proven analytical and problem solving skills.
    10. Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a changing and demanding environment.
