Drive-On Assistant Foreperson

Location: Fresno, CA | Shift: Varies | Status: Hourly | Job ID: # 5925

Essential Job Functions

1. Learn about and assist with the grow-out program so that ranch set-up, brooding, temperatures, ventilation, mortality, vaccination, and medication are sustained to meet the highest level of quality and productivity.
2. Learn about and assist the foreperson with feed projections, coordination with feed mill of feed deliveries maintenance of accurate feed inventories, and proper feeding methods.
3. Learn and assist with the maintenance of facilities and equipment for optimal use and good appearance, maintain dwelling in good appearance/repair appearance for live in position.
4. Learn about and assist with the maintenance of accurate and complete records pertaining to all ranch activities, feed, mortality, labor, production, and energy consumption.
5. Learn/adhere to strict sanitation and disease prevention guidelines, assist in constant monitoring of birds health and report all abnormalities to Ranch Foreperson and or field supervisor.
6. React to any ranch emergency that could adversely affect the chickens, day or night.
7. Maintain high level of safety awareness, adhere to and enforce all safety rules, procedures, and guidelines.
8. Take full responsibility for ranch facility and birds in the absence of foreperson.
9. Assist in the evaluation of flock performances to identify possible areas for improvement.

Requirements

1. Prior poultry experience preferred.
2. Must be self-motivated and able to work independently with minimum supervision
3. Good communication and organizational skills and good mathematical skills.
5. Mechanical aptitude preferred.
6. Able to work nights and weekends as needed.
7. Able to commute to other ranches as necessary.
8. Will be utilized at other locations during down times as assigned.
