Choose
meats wisely- Selecting lower-priced cuts of meat or
poultry can save your nearly $2 per pound. If you purchase three
pounds of poultry each week, this could represent $310 in annual
savings. Substitute turkey tenderloins for pricey beef tenderloin,
as in our Chicken Stroganoff recipe and save!
Be flexible. If your recipe calls for boneless,
skinless, chicken breast, but bone-in breasts are on sale, consider
substituting the cuts. Just allow a bit of extra time for deboning
or cooking with the bone in.
Carving 101 - Save money each week by purchasing
a whole fresh chicken and cutting it into individual parts.
For carving instructions, go to our online Cooking
School. You can save about $5/lb for an annual savings of
$300 by purchasing whole chicken weekly rather than pre-cut
pieces.

Know your Butcher- It never hurts to make
small talk with a butcher or meat manager. These guys are the
experts on the store’s best deals and tastiest cuts. If
you’re lucky, he might also share favorite recipes.
Don’t Pay Extra for Salt – Foster
Farms fresh chicken is never injected with saltwater unlike
other fresh chicken brands. Read the label carefully and make
sure that you’re getting 100% all natural chicken.
Opt For Chicken Or Turkey - Chicken and turkey
are a better buy because they contain more protein and less
fat per ounce than red meat. Poultry is also less expensive.
Substituting chicken or turkey for red meat three times a week
will save your family over $500 a year.
