IT Senior Programmer Analyst

Essential Job Functions

1. Complete complex requirements analysis, design, configuration, programming and troubleshooting assignments
2. Develop technical programs or system specifications that will be converted into application software or configurations that are well documented, maintainable and satisfy defined business needs.
3. Provide technical assistance and guidance to other programmer analysts.
4. Perform system administration, monitoring, or system tuning.
5. Identify, define, document, and lead resolution of system and business process problems.
6. Create system design Statement’s of Work (SOW’s).
7. Provide project management tasks related to configuration and/or programming assignments.
8. Complete systems documentation.
9. Create system maintenance Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) and perform associated maintenance activities.
10. Create, modify implement, and/or execute unit and system test plans, which adequately exercise the performance of the system and its various sub components.
11. Additional duties as assigned by manager.


Requirements

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

1. Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, software engineering, or engineering required, Masters Degree preferred with Broad consumer products industry experience strongly preferred.
2. Broad consumer products industry experience strongly preferred.
3. Minimum of 8-10 years of progressive responsibility in software design, development, configuration and programming including experience using C, C++, C++.Net, Pro*C, Visual Basic (VB), VB.NET, Java, PL/SQL, Socket Programming, Shell Scripts and Perl
4. Excellent understanding of coding methods and best practices
5. Extensive relational database and operating systems experience with SQL Server, DB2 or Oracle
6. Prior experience interviewing end users for insight on functionality, problems, or usability issues and needs
7. Experience with all software development lifecycle phases and activities, and project management principles.
8. Experience learning and documenting complex business requirements
9. Experience defining, designing, building, configuring, testing and implementing IT solutions to complex business functions
10. Ability to communicate clearly, concisely, and effectively with non-technical staff and members of other IT and business teams and with varying levels of management, users, and team members, both written and verbal.
11. Thorough hands on experience developing and completing test cases and test scenarios and experience managing subordinate resources and or assignments
12. Familiarity using the following applications: MS Office suite, MS Project, and NetMeeting
13. Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, highly self motivated and directed and have proven analytical and problem solving skills
14. Ability to effectively plan, organize, prioritize and execute tasks in a changing and demanding environment
15. Strong service orientation skills with a desire to help others
16. Experience working both independently and in a team oriented, collaborative environment

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

1. Master’s Degree
2. IT experience working in a manufacturing organization for a $1+ billion organization.
3. Broad consumer products industry experience strongly preferred.
4. Familiarity with HTML, XML, and other B2B communication techniques and standards desired
5. Ability to move up within the organization.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

1. Must have reliable transportation
2. Must be have to obtain CA drivers license
3. Must be able to travel over night occasionally
4. Must be able to have consistent attendance in the Livingston, or other assigned Foster Farms’ Office
5. Must be able to drive to various company and vendor locations
6. Must be able to work on the computer for long periods of time
7. Must be able to deal with periodic high stress situations
8. Must be able to stay calm and focused when dealing with difficult issues.
