STATEMENT REGARDING VOLUNTARY RETAIL CORN DOG RECALL IN SOUTHEASTERN STATES DUE TO UNDECLARED ALLERGEN

Foster Farms is initiating a voluntary recall (Class 1) of its frozen Retail 16 count (2.67 pound) Honey-Crunchy Corn Dogs (ink jetted box code P-7322 - best if used by July 2, 2013) due to the presence of an undeclared dairy (milk) allergen and the presence of jalapeño pepper as an undeclared ingredient. People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to these ingredients may experience an adverse reaction if they consume this product. The company is aware of one adverse reaction to jalapeño which was quickly resolved, but no reports of illness associated with these products. No other Foster Farms corn dogs or Foster Farms poultry products are affected. This product was only sold at retail stores.

This recall only involves 16 count (2.67 pound) packages of Honey-Crunchy Corn Dogs produced in Alabama and distributed to retailers in Georgia, Florida and Tennessee with primary availability in the south and southeastern United States. In total, 518 cases of Honey-Crunchy Corn Dogs (16,576 pounds) were affected. Retailers have been notified to remove these products from store shelves.
