Known as the "Gateway to Yosemite," Merced is located less than two hours from one of California's most spectacular National Parks. But that's not all Merced has to offer. With a population of over 70,000, Merced has both a bustling downtown and shopping district, surrounded by quaint neighborhoods, excellent parks and schools. In addition to Yosemite, the area has a vast array of outdoor activities year-round, including spectacular skiing, hiking, fishing and water sports in several nearby lakes and streams.
