Responsible for the warehousing and transportation functions within Foster Farms, this department works closely with product management and customer service to flawlessly execute and deliver Foster Farms products complete and on time.
Customer Service
Our customer service department is the most frequent contact between Foster Farms and the customer. Customer Service personnel accept and process customer orders and work with all other areas of the Supply Chain to ensure customers receive Foster Farms product in a timely manner. Customer Service receives orders via EDI, phone or fax, inputs and monitors these orders in SAP and communicates with the customers, brokers or Sales when issues arise. The Customer Service Department is a primary source of communication between Foster Farms and the customer and helps maintain an unbreakable link for service and commitment.
Product Control Chicken
Manage the live bird supply to ensure customer order fill, while managing frozen, inventories. Matching the forecast demand and actual orders to the meat supply and making the necessary adjustments to the daily and weekly production plans. Run plant capacity analysis for all plants based on forecasted sales volumes. Create Purchasing plans for raw materials and copacking production plans.
Scheduling-Chicken
Coordinate all facets of live production to meet weekly marketing request. Manage and report on inventory of breeders, egg production and live birds at all times, showing changes and explaining variances. Projecting future performance based on past. Completing an annual plan to meet marketing needs.
Product Control-Turkey
Direct product control functions and information flow to meet customer service expectations. Coordinate with analyst to determine Supply/Demand balance. Provide analysis on product mix, availability, capacities, etc. Provide long term meat balancing and Fresh Season plan. Manage materials warehouse.
Coordinate delivery and distribution of materials to all Turkey and Deli production facilities. Maintain and monitor materials warehouses and inventory.
Scheduling-Turkey
Provide daily production schedule based on sales orders and/or long term plan.
Utilize SAP to ensure the plant runs the most efficient product mix possible, while ensuring customer service levels are met. Track, record, and, publish order fill numbers. Assist Product Controllers in managing distressed inventory and customer returns by monitoring inventory levels and aging reports.
Demand Planning
Forecast demand against supply based upon history as well as information received from sales. Approve ads based on availability by week. Prepare a 12 week planner for sales to determine the availability within each week by segment. Present to Executive Staff each week the past weeks' performance as well as the next 12 weeks out.
Commodity Sales
Develop a customer base to sell all commodity products. Commodity products are defined as freezebacks, distressed product and excess fresh product. Weekly availability and price lists are published by way of e-mail to over 300 customers. Sales are handled either by phone or through e-mail.
